DETAILED ITINERARY:-
DAY 01: NAIROBI / OLPEJETA CONSERVANCY
Get an early start with a pickup
from your hotel or residence then begin the 3.5-hour drive to the Sweet water's
Chimpanzee Sanctuary, passing through a scenic landscape of coffee and tea
estates. Make the first stop at the Sweet water's Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a refuge
for chimpanzees from around West and Central Africa. Learn about some of the 38
chimpanzees that live in the sanctuary’s natural enclosures, and see the
primates as they approach a feeding platform. Continue into the Ol Pejeta
Conservancy for a game drive across the open plains, which are home to a
remarkable population of rare animals including wild dogs, zebras, cheetahs,
and hartebeest, as well as the “Big Five”: lion, Cape buffalo, African
elephant, leopard, and rhinoceros.
Lunch will be served at the lodge later afternoon
game drive with the combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across
the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari
experience. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 364sq km wildlife conservancy
situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares and its
game-to-area ratio tops the Kenyan park and reserve league. The Ol Pejeta
Conservancy in Kenya has over 10000 large mammals and it is the only park where
the big 5 and chimpanzees can be seen. It is also where the fastest growing
population of rhino in Africa can be found. There are southern white rhino,
about 80 endangered black rhino and in a special sanctuary there are two of the
world’s last remaining northern white rhino. As the sun sets, we return to the
camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 02: OLPEJETA / NAIROBI
Take an early morning game
drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy which boasts of an astounding variety of animals
including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant,
buffalo and lion). The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views
across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari
experience. You visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by
the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the
specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty
specimens! Enjoy a game drive in the park where one could see reticulated
giraffe, common, or Burchell's, zebra, African elephant, Cape Buffalo,
warthogs, Waterbucks, Jacksons Hartebeest, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Steinbok,
Striped Hyena, Suni, Thomson's Gazelle and Impala. Over 500 species of birds
have been recorded including the Ostrich.
Safari by vehicle is not the
only option at Ol Pejeta. Safari game walks, horse rides and even camel rides
are available, as are safari night drives. The tour returns to Nairobi arriving
late in the afternoon. Drop off at your hotel or residence or transfer to the
airport for your outbound flight back home.
