DETAILED ITINERARY:


DAY 1: NAIROBI | SAMBURU

 

Arrive in Nairobi and drive to Samburu. The drive time is approximately 6 hours. Upon arrival at Samburu, have a game drive en route to Samburu Simba lodge for lunch. After lunch, relax until 4.00 p.m. time for your evening game drive. At 6.00 p.m., return to the camp for dinner and overnight. Samburu is famous for the rare and unusual reticulated giraffe, long-necked gerenuk, Colobus monkey, beisa oryx, and Gravy’s zebra. {Meal Plan; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner}

DAY 2: SAMBURU


Enjoy a full day at Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives with an optional cultural visit to the Samburu Village at an extra US$ 20 per person later in the day.

Samburu is home to a third of Kenya's giraffe species - the rare Reticulated Giraffe (only found in the Northern parks). This is also where you see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk Gazelles, and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx Antelope, leopards, hippos, elephants, lions.

DAY 3: SAMBURU | OLPEJETA

 

After your breakfast depart to drive to Mt. Kenya’s Ol Pejeta conservancy. Here you will be able to see chimpanzees, rare black rhinos plus a host of other animals. Lunch at Serena Sweet waters camp. After lunch, depart for a tour of the rhino and the chimpanzee sanctuaries, no other place in Kenya has Chimpanzees and the rhino sanctuary is home to a strong 40 black rhinos and game drive. DAY 4: OLPEJETA | LAKE NAKURU

 

Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park after a brief game drive and breakfast, arriving in time for lunch at the camp as well as check-in. Afternoon game drive takes you to the lake to view Flamingos and pelicans. Also, spot White/Black Rhinos, Rothschild Giraffe, Waterbucks, and other kinds of African wildlife. The Lake Forest attracts a wide variety of birds.

DAY 5: LAKE NAKURU | MASAI MARA

 

Early morning breakfast then drive along the Great Rift Valley, passing by the Mau forest to Masai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive at the camp/lodge for check-in as well for lunch. Afternoon game viewing in this fascinating wildlife paradise with a chance to view; giraffes, elephants, monkeys, leopards, lions, gazelles, and different bird species.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA

Spend a whole day viewing wildlife in Masai Mara Game reserve. You will have the opportunity to arrange the order of game drives depending on the location of the wildebeest herds (July-October) as well as allowing time for game drives to see other wildlife. Around Mid-August, the herds are normally scattered around the Mara Triangle Area and crossings at the Mara River are quite common. {Meal Plan; Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner}

Maasai village visit: USD 20 per person

You can visit a Maasai village to see their traditional life. Photography is NOT prohibited here. Maasai guide at the village will escort and explain to you in English about their lives. It takes about 2 hours including the return transfers by us.» Duration: approx.2hours, starting at 10:00 AM

Maasai lady will give you a lecture on how to make a beaded bracelet at our library. It will be one of your souvenirs once completed. The lecture takes about 3 hours.

Hot air balloon safari:  USD 400 per person
Early morning balloon safari you drift above the browsing game and have tremendous opportunities for unusual photographs. What could be more uplifting than an early morning safari in a hot air balloon flying over vast plains of Africa? Witness an African Sunrise a plethora of wildlife roams the land beneath you. At the end of the flight. You land on the plains in the midst of this enchanting Savannah champagne, breakfast is laid out with the aroma of sausages, eggs, and bacon sizzling over a charcoal fire. DAY 7: MASAI MARA | LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha scenic view of mount Longonot on your way to Lake Naivasha. Proceed for Lunch on arrival at the lodge. Afternoon optional activities are undertaken in Lake Naivasha. Take a 1-hour boat ride (optional activity will include a walk on crescent Island) The lake is almost 13kms across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five meters. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow barked Acacia Xanthophlea, known as the yellow fever tree. These forests abound with birdlife, and Naivasha is known for world-class birding. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps, and Columbus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lake's large hippo population sleeps the day out in the shallows. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight

DAY 8:  LAKE NAIVASHA | AMBOSELI

After breakfastdrive south through Masai country to the plains below Mt. Kilimanjaro where Amboseli is situated. Lunch or arrival at the lodge, then we proceed into the scenic Amboseli National Park for a game drive returning to the lodge in the evening for a sundowner. Despite its small size (392 sq km), this fragile ecosystem supports a wide range of mammals (well over 50 of the larger species) and birds (over 400 species) The Waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Amboseli lacks the profusion of animal species found in the Mara, but the landscape provides limited cover so we have better chances of seeing some of the larger predators. Elephant, buffaloes, lions, gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, Masai Giraffes, zebra, baboon, and waterbuck are all present in the park.

DAY 9: AMBOSELI

Awake early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit. We will then set off on a “spice” game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from wildebeest to giraffes to baboons. Optional visit a nearby Masai village. Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. These warriors are a famous and proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with wild animals are known across the world.

DAY 10: AMBOSELI

You can opt for an Early Morning game drive to see Mount Kilimanjaro when it usually appears on the Mantle of Clouds and head back for Breakfast before Departing to Nairobi arriving in the late afternoon. The guide will take you to Carnivore Restaurant for complimentary dinner before dropping you off at the airport for your onward flight back home.
