We will arrive in good time to check in and have lunch and later  you'll experience your first game drive in Masai mara It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where a visitor may see animals in the same super abundance as existed a century ago. The reason being that this hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by Mara and Talek rivers full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons maasai mara has greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa.  There is a particularly dramatic spectacle from July to October, the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and Zebras, predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions closely follow these herds. The plain is literally covered with these animals. Grunts and other animal sounds are heard, and territorial fights are commonplace. The migration, now declared the Seventh Wonder of the World takes place from end July to September. Soak in the abundance of untamed wilderness, fresh and natural scenery, filled with exotic wildlife during our expertly guided game drives enjoyed in open vehicles. For those interested in a more intimate encounter, we contact a safe and exciting walking safari where you will have a chance to come face to face with nature’s beauty both in Flora and Fauna. and head back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay. As the sun sets, we shall return back to the camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 2: Masai mara

You will have a full day to spend in this vast game reserve. You can either have a morning and afternoon game drive, or have breakfast and then head out on a full-day game drive with picnic lunches. Masai Mara is known as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves, situated in south-west Kenya. It is famous for the abundance of the big cats – lions, leopards and Cheetahs.

Renowned for its magnificent Big Cat population that hunt the wildebeest, zebra and other plains game that dominate the Mara, it has even been nicknamed the Kingdom of the Lions. Finding a pride of lions (there are some 400 lions resident in the reserve and neighboring conservancies) is normally relatively easy – and high on most visitors’ must-see lists. Leopards are also seen increasingly often, and good sightings of cheetahs can be expected. Other predators regular seen throughout the reserve and conservancies include fascinating spotted hyenas (rarely bothered by human observers and compelling in their social interactions) black-backed and side-striped jackals, and cute pairs of bat-eared foxes. With luck, you may also see a Serval – a lanky, striped and spotted cat of tall grass and bush, adept at catching small mammals and birds.

The most rear predator of the Masai Mara, the wild dog, is a beautiful, nomadic pack animal. At one time almost extinct in the region, one or two packs (and what appear to be smaller scouting parties of two or three individuals) are being seen in many areas, though still not on a regular basis.

After your day in the wild, head back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay. All meals and Overnight at Manyatta tented camp.

It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with bird-life since dose to about 452 species have been recorded. Hot air balloon safaris are readily available in this park.

We think it makes the perfect first stop for your Roadtrip Tanzania safari. Herds of wildebeest and zebra head Northwest to the Rift Valley floor and the vast open areas of the Maasai Steppe. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Join us to explore the different forms of vegetation and landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of their most fascinating inhabitants. Serengeti national park is the best of East Africa’s game reserves with its high number of resident carnivores, the opportunity to find lion, cheetah and leopard is unparalleled, that combine with over two million wild beast, mankind their journey every year to the Maasai mara less than a kilometer from the lodge makes an encounter .The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-maned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful serval cat. Day 11:  Serengeti / Ngorongoro

After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through rich farmland until reaching the lush montane forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Crater Highlands. After ascending and descending the rift escarpment, we'll stop first at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most famous fossil and archaeological sites, dating back two million years and where many finds of early humans were discovered. Optional tour the Olduvai Museum before having a picnic lunch as you proceed to the Ngorongoro Conservation area.  Due to the enclosed nature of the Crater it has virtually formed its own ecosystem. Besides the stunning scenery, one of the main attractions of this area is the variety of flora and fauna found in a remarkably compact area all year round. In the South west corner there is the Lerai Forest, which is mainly comprised of yellow fever trees (a member of the acacia family). To the north of the forest is a shallow soda lake called Lake Magadi and to the east you will find Gorigor Swamp and the Ngoitokitok Springs where pods of hippo are to be found. The north of the Crater is, on the whole, much drier and consists of the open grasslands which characterises the Crater floor; this is where the majority of the resident game resides. Dinner and Overnight at the budget lodge in Karatu.

Day 10: Ngorongoro Crator tour / Arusha / Departure

After Breakfast, check out with picnic lunch boxes and Descend over 600 meters into the crater to view wildlife. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro National Park supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here. You are guaranteed to see large concentrations of game . The mineral-rich floor of this spectacular bowl is largely flat, open and covered in nutritious grasses – much to the liking of large herds of zebra and wildebeest, which graze here. These extensive open plains are also home to herds of buffalo, Thomson's gazelle, Grant's gazelle and tsessebe (often called topi). You'll also find East Africa's best population of black rhino here, which are often seen in open grasslands. Breeding herds of elephant pass through the Ngorongoro Crater itself only rarely, but you will see a scattering of old bulls, including some of the biggest tuskers left alive in Africa today. The only surprising absentees from the Crater are Impala and Giraffe; it is thought that this is perhaps because of the lack of open woodlands and browsing species of trees which these two tend to thrive on. Exit the park and proceed to Arusha where the tour ends.  Drop off at your pre-booked hotel for overnight or at the airport for your flight back home or afternoon flight or shuttle bus to Nairobi arriving in good connecting time with your home bound flight. Or to Zanzibar for a few days relaxation at a beach resort.
