12-Day Kenya - Tanzania Budget Safari

A Kenya & Tanzania combined camping safari package to the Kenya's most famous parks with abundant wildlife throughout the year beautiful sceneries, bird life, flora and fauna. Adventure walking and cycling at Hells gate national park as you view game. Holiday safari to Tanzania’s premier parks in the Northern Tanzania ie Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire National parks in Tanzania.

Arrival

Day 1

Nairobi / Masai mara

When you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta Airport, You'll meet and greet by our representatives before begin your safari by driving to Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you descend the Great Rift Valley. As you drive into the reserve, you will see Masai homesteads and the Masai people, who have a very rich culture. We will arrive in good time to check in and have lunch at the Ol Moran Tented Camp. In the afternoon, you'll experience your first game drive and head back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2

Masai mara

You will have a full day to spend in this vast game reserve. You can either have a morning and afternoon game drive, or have breakfast and then head out on a full-day game drive with picnic lunches. Masai Mara is known as one of Africa’s greatest wildlife reserves, situated in south-west Kenya. It is famous for the abundance of the big cats – lions, leopards, cheetahs – and also for the Masai people, well known for their distinctive culture. After your day in the wild, head back to the camp for dinner and overnight stay. All meals and Overnight at Manyatta tented camp.

Day 3

Masai mara

Full day spent exploring the park in search of the Big 5 with a possibility of seeing the annual wildebeest migration that takes place from July to September every year. Optional hot air Balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 400 per person. The Masai Mara Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with bird-life since dose to about 452 species have been recorded. Hot air balloon safaris are readily available in this park.

Day 4

Masai mara / Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, drive to Lake Naivasha arriving at the camp in time for lunch. You can spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure – you may want to do some of the optional activities offered in such as bird walks and boat rides. The lake is almost 13kms across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five meters. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleeps the day out in the shallows. Hell's Gate National Park lies beside the lake. The park is home to a profusion of plains game and bird-life. Walking is permitted, making it ideal for hiking, biking, and rock climbing.

Day 5

Lake Naivasha / Amboseli

Breakfast at the camp and proceed to Amboseli national park Via Nairobi to arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game drive. Amboseli is the magnificent park at the foot hills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. This small park (at 392 sq km) is the second most popular park in Kenya after Masai Mara, mainly due to the spectacular backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro on the southern boundary.
Amboseli means ‘the place of water’ in Masai language. The park has an endless supply of water which is filtered through thousands of meters of volcanic rock from Mount Kilimanjaro. Animal species seen include elephant, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala and leopard. Kilimanjaro forms the backdrop of this game sanctuary and it is a sight to see and marvel at
the nomadic richly decorated Masai who are deeply steeped in Masai culture entertain visitors with enchanting dances of ageless Africa. All Meals and Overnight at Kimana camp.

Day 6

Amboseli

Spend a full day in Amboseli National Park with game drives. You can do a half day or morning and afternoon game drives. Early morning game drive can be taken in Amboseli when Mt. Kilimanjaro usually appears from its mantle of clouds, morning and afternoon game viewing in Amboseli, the game Proceeds to the area of Lake Amboseli, which is a wide salt pan, consisting of permanent swamps. This area has much game, large and small, high concentration of Elephant, rhino, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, eland, Masai giraffe and small species of the antelope family, the common water buck, klipspringer, Grant’s gazelle, impala, topi, and the diminutive duiker among others. Day 7

Amboseli / Arusha

Early morning breakfast at the camp, check out and drive to Namanga where you will go through immigration and customs for Kenya and Tanzania, and continue with your safari in Tanzania with the Tanzanian Crew. On arrival at Namanga border, you'll be met by our driver-guide and escorted to Arusha town in the heart of Tanzania’s safari center for Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Green Mountain Hotel / similar.

Day 8

Arusha / Tarangire

After breakfast, you will be met by your driver guide at the reception area for briefing before you are driven to Tarangire National Park to arrive for lunch and afternoon game drive. Tarangire National Park is famous for its giant baobab trees, large herds of elephants, plains game and predators. Tarangire also boasts a large variety of spectacular bird life, including endemic species. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the camp, which is a small and friendly community camp, with only six tents. It is only five minutes' drive from the gate to Tarangire National Park.
Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 9

Tarangire / Serengeti

After breakfast drive to Serengeti National Park, passing through rich farmland until reaching the lush montane forests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Crater Highlands. After ascending and descending the rift escarpment, we'll stop first at Olduvai Gorge, one of the world’s most famous fossil and archaeological sites, dating back two million years and where many finds of early humans were discovered. Tour the Olduvai Museum before having a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, continue game-viewing in the Serengeti. Undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, the Serengeti is home to the highest density of animals in the world as well as being unrivalled for its natural beauty, diversity and scientific value. During your daily game drives you’ll witness the annual ancient drama of life, death and rebirth in this primeval wilderness. All meals and Overnight at the camp.

Day 10

Serengeti

After breakfast, a full day with morning and afternoon game drives to explore the plains, Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometres of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park It is the Migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Join us to explore the different forms of vegetation and landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of their most fascinating inhabitants. Return to the camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 11

Serengeti / Ngorongoro

Just after your hot breakfast, Embark on an early morning game drive in the Serengeti. Serengeti name comes from Maasai Language meaning endless plain. Therefore is home to many animals including Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Wildebeests, Zebras, Leopards, Cheetahs, Warthogs, Hyenas plus a lots and lots of bird life. In many cases migration is taking place around Serengeti and at that particular time millions of wildebeest and zebra are mingling together followed by predators. Afternoon after Lunch, drive to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight at Simba public campsite.

Day 12

Ngorongoro / Arusha / Departure

Breakfast at leisure then drive then exit the park and drive to Arusha – for lunch, drop off at the airport for your flight back home or afternoon flight or shuttle bus to Nairobi arriving in good connecting time with your home bound flight. Or to Zanzibar for a few days relaxation at a beach resort.
